Macdonald Development Corporation, a western Canadian company, has been successfully developing, investing in, and managing real estate since 1982. A number of our senior executives began their real estate careers in the 1970s.
We have been active in a number of regions in North America, including most major cities in Canada, British Columbia's interior and Vancouver Island, California, Seattle and Atlanta. Our more than $4 billion worth of acquisition and development experience spans a broad range of asset classes including residential land development, single-family and multi-family housing, office, industrial, retail and hotels.
Ronald Lanthier, the Macdonald Development executive responsible for Watermark at Bearspaw, has almost 30 years of real estate acquisition and development experience across Canada. Since 2005, he has been working in Calgary as the local Macdonald Development representative. His previous experience includes his role as Senior Vice President of the real estate arm of Great-West Life. His recent Calgary area projects include overseeing: the development of Swift Creek Estates in Springbank, a $30 million residential land project currently nearing infrastructure completion; the acquisition of a 50 percent ownership interest in the Banker's Hall office complex; the development of Airport Corporate Centre, the eight-storey office building beside the Calgary Airport Terminal; the development of Discovery Pointe, a 27-storey apartment tower in the west side of downtown; and the acquisition of Glenmore Gardens Apartments, a 326-unit complex located in the Pump Hill area.
Macdonald Development Corporation has extensive experience in the development of single-family residential communities. Some of its recent (completed since 2005 or still underway), successful, Western Canadian single-family projects are highlighted in "Our Recent Residential Projects" section of this website.
